Project description:

The Government of Suriname financed the project “Construction of the riverbanks protection works at Surinameriver and Commewijneriver”. The works included the construction of several type of riverbank protection constructions (earth construction, steel sheet pile, concrete wall) and other facilities (sluices and jetty constructions).

A summary of these supervision activities is presented below:

• Preparations;
• Setting out of works;
• Work according to technical specifications and tender drawings
• Review Contractors Work Schedule;
• Inspect the quality of the delivered work;
• Measurement of quantities for Certificates;
• Daily, Weekly and monthly progress reports
• Attend weekly technical meeting
• Identifying of additional and less works
• Organize laboratory and field tests
• Inspect social safeguard aspects, including environmental compliance; HSE aspects, etc.
