Project description:

The Government of Suriname financed the project “Construction of the riverbanks protection works at Surinameriver and Commewijneriver”. The works included the construction of several type of riverbank protection constructions (earth construction, steel sheet pile, concrete wall) and other facilities (sluices and jetty constructions).

Project description:

The Government of St Eustatius received financing of the European Union for the implementation of the Revetment for Container Terminal St. Eustatius.

 

The main objectives of the project are:

  • Protecting the container terminal against difficult weather conditions
  • Expanding the area of container handling

A summary of these supervision activities is presented below:

  • Revision of design drawings due to changes of circumstances
  • Supporting client regarding relevant changes (advisory role)
  • Work – and Progress meetings, including prepare Minutes of meetings.

  • Site visits at the quarry (Nu Star Oil Company) location including harbour area.

Project description:

ROSEBEL HAUL ROAD IMPROVEMENT PLAN

Aim of the project: The overall project focuses on the reduction of the maintenance and high tire cost due to the inadequate conditions of the Rosebel Haul Road.

The scope of the project was focused on as follow:

  1. The main and priority focus was on the Rosebel haul road due to excessive maintenance costs for trucks and vehicles.
  2. Determine the level of bearing capacity / strength of the present sub-soil
  3. Assess the bearing capacity / strength of the sections that have been filled with waste material from other sites of RGM
  4. Determine the required strength capacity of the road top layers including base and surface course.
  5. Determine changes in the vertical alignment and improvements for run off and drainage
  6. Propose options and costs for the new road structure, including options to reduce dust production.

  4. Topographical survey data of the haul road (longitudinal and cross sections profiles, road width)

  8. Inventory drainage system Rosebel Haul Road (coverage, functioning, damages etc.)
  9. Vertical alignment of the road.
  10. Stability of the soil (subgrade, subbase, base and top layer).
  11. Determination of the stopping distance of Haul road truck versus sight distances.
  12. Test pits made on the side along the haul road from which samples were processed.
  13. Visual inspection were done along the haul road including the sidewalks
  14. All test were done in compliance with Guidelines of Haul Road Design” by Dwayne D. Tannant and Bruce Regensburg (international standard guidelines for mining).

According to above activities a recommendation report is issued by ILACO Suriname NV which fulfill the conditions stated in the contract including different options and costs aspects

Project description:

The Water Supply Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project (WSIR) consists of four components,

but the required consultancy services will focus on three components below:

  • Non Revenue Water (NRW) program, addressing the development and implementation of a NRW program, including network modelling, leak detection, installation of flow/pressure meters, designs, etc.
  • Water Supply System Rehabilitation (WSSR), addressing the rehabilitation of secondary and tertiary network in selected areas, including designs, tender documents and supervision
  • Institutional Strengthening, addressing the improvement of SWM’s operation and maintenance capacity, including training

The primary objectives of this study are:

  1. Undertake a diagnosis and study of the “general characterization of mobility” in Paramaribo based on secondary information and field work, in order to obtain patterns of mobility in 3 important corridors of the city (Kwattaweg/ Henck Arronstraat and Zwartenhovenbrugstraat).
  2. Create an Action Plan for Mobility to promote more sustainable urban mobility and lifestyles in the city in the short-, medium-, and long-terms; to include the identification, planning and prioritization of the main challenges, opportunities for improvement, areas for intervention, activities and strategic actions.

Summary of the “Supervision of 7 Health Care Facilities for the Regional Health Care Department” project

The work include the supervision of the civil construction of six (6) Health Care Centers in Paramaribo and other districts and one (1) Pharmaceutical Depository in Paramaribo, including all associated electrical, water, mechanical and finishing works, together with fixed furniture in various spaces within the facilities.

During the supervision, attention is paid to:

  • Checking for compliance with the safety instructions;
  • Inspecting the quality of the delivered works;
  • Conducting the construction administration (including managing contracts, financial statements, delivery documents and reports):
  • Reviewing and controlling of the building materials and products on the basis of the technical specification;
  • Organizing of progress meetings and monthly meetings with the stakeholders;
  • Identifying any difficulties in the planning due to calamities or extreme weather conditions.

On August 21th 2017 four (4) of the seven (7) contracts were signed. The contract award of the other three (3) projects has been delayed and is still in procurement process with the PMU and Client.
